Dominic R. Escamilla is Hawai’i-born, a current Mililani resident, and well-traveled.
Having been a child in a military household, Dominic has lived in two countries and over twenty states. These experiences allowed him to gain immeasurable knowledge of many diverse cultures. And because of his unique upbringing, Dominic learned to have compassion for people, which led him to his passion for helping others.
He spent time setting a foundation for himself by getting an education at Leeward Community College studying both business sales and marketing, as well as fashion. He tripled his workload by making a huge entrepreneurial decision to open up a shop, which was successful prior to his graduation in both majors.
Originally named ‘Dre Empire HNLAX’ a clothing shop, opened its’ doors to customers on December 12, 2012, in Wahiawa. As a streetwear designer and creative director, Dominic had the support of the people and decided to take it to the next level. Now known as ‘HNLAX by Dre Empire Barber Shop and Salon located in The Town Center of Mililani, Dominic fulfilled another goal of his vision for his brand. He doesn’t plan to stop there. He has set his eyes on opening up more locations so that he may be of service to new and more customers. Alongside that, he has already created a hair product line to further his brand.
Dominic has made it clear that his main goal is to help people look and feel good. With this self motto of what his priority is in work and in life; “Delivering. Doing what you said you are going to do ALWAYS.” Dominic is prepared and excited for the next wave of success for his business, his brand, his employees, and his customers.
Being a young, entrepreneur has had its’ ups and downs. But without his creativeness, free spirit, and ability to remain independent, he would not have had seven years of success. His business and brand are helping people all over the island to look and feel their best.
